UK Welcomes Athletes With The International Sportsperson Route

 The International Sportsperson route is known to be one of the top sponsored visa routes in the UK. This route offers a bright chance for internationally established athletes and coaches to come to the UK for about a period of 3 years.


If you have an employer then they must have an International Sportsperson Sponsor License to be able to sponsor you. If they don’t have one already then they would need to acquire the sponsor license application from the Home Office. The job role that you are being sponsored for must meet certain criteria, including:

  • Minimum required skill level
  • Minimum salary threshold (depending on the role)
