  In today’s video update, we will talk about Australia’s Migration Program Planning Levels for 2023-2024.   The Government of Australia has announced its  2023-24 permanent Migration program  planning levels, going back to pre-COVID-19 numbers. Of the total 190,000 available slots, the Family stream will consume about 52,500 places which is approximately 28% of the program, and the Skill stream will take 137,000 places which is about 72%. Within the Skill stream, most visa categories have stayed steady or reduced from 2022-23 levels, except for the employer-sponsored category,  which elevated to 36,825 from 35,000. The Australian government has found a loophole that allowed students to instantly switch to more affordable education providers soon after their arrival in Australia. This move mainly targets “dodgy” institutions that have been misusing this policy to their benefit. Growing Concerns and Immediate Actions   The concurrent enrolment policy was primarily designed to let students commence additional courses together with their primary study program. On the other hand, there’s been a rush in its exploitation. Generally, a student would have to wait a minimum of six months to change their institution. So, stay with us till the end.   Is your Biometric Residence Permit (BRP) expiring on 31 December 2024?  Then, you must be worried thinking how it would affect your immigration status in the UK.   The Home Office has plans to change the system of proving a migrant’s status in the UK. They will switch to a fully digital system starting 1 January 2025. What does this mean?   Well, Once this change comes into effect, physical BRP cards won’t be issued anymore.   This is why all BRP cards, including  Indefinite Leave To Remain , that are issued with a validity of beyond 31 December 2024 are printed with an expiry date of 31 December 2024.
